The Color Purple...again!

The look of Summer...

The garden is still the focus at Russell Street. I love Summer. This week has been filled with festivities surrounding "Troyfest," the upcoming Fourth of July, friends and family in and around the house, summer dishes, summer smoothies, hot sun, breezy evenings, fireworks, etc,

The proof is in the pic...or maybe the garden!

Well here you go! For all of the doubting Thomases, (I forget the reference here) but as a City Slicker, I can't tell you how happy this garden makes me, Mom, and Dad! It is a "Family Affair" that everyday takes us there and brings us all together for a common bond! Anyone need cucumbers?

For Mimi....

The latest and greatest "Farm Hand!"

It will certainly take off now....

I'll have the veggie plate...

It has been a few weeks since I posted. The main thing going on now is the garden. The last few weeks have been filled with ups and downs. Work has been extremely busy putting the store back in shape from a much needed overhaul. Our family suffered a loss of one of my mom's sisters. After a long bout with health issues, my Mimi, has left us. Dianne as she was known to most was a sister, mother, grandmother and very dear friend to many in this community. The night of the visitation more than 650 friends and family gathered together to pay tribute to a very special friend. She will be and is missed. She was so excited about Russell Street. She was such a fan of the flea market and everything about her family. There is something renewing about the garden. It is new life. It is new beginnings. It is a fulfillment of things to come. To watch the tiny 2 inch plants grow and bear fruit, it just gives hope that there are better things to come. I have always been such a fan of flowers, now I have added veggies to the list.
