48 Hours!

In the next 48 hours, something I have been thinking about and working on for over a year (16 months) to be exact will come together. It has been an incredible journey with the efforts and help from so many people in the process. First of all, I want to thank my folks for being the incredible people that they are. I owe so much to them for everything. I also want to thank David, Travis, Anthony, Lee, Chuck, Mickey, Mickey, Steve, Taylor, Dillon, David, Mary, Carolyn, Harold, Gelinda, Christy, Sissy, Claudia, Ron, Tami, Rebecca, Mark, Jamie, Jason, Robin, Jason and countless others that I apologize if you didn't get mentioned. I want to offer special thanks for support and thoughts from Mary, Feliet, Dianne, Junior, Ernestine, RJ, Turner, Bill, Marie, and Francis. Family is so important always and this house will be a "Family House." Special thanks go to now and in advance for all of the efforts and work that has been put into the project by Ben. His ideas and talents will be used to make it a place to be proud to call home. I wanted to post one repeat picture since most likely the next pictures will be of a furnished home. Catch you later.

The list shortens....I think!

Beginning Monday, I understand will be a rally with electrical, painting, staining, carpentry, and even some kitchen work going on as the deadline approaches. Not to bore but more to remind and confirm, this is a list of what is left.
  • Complete electrical throughout the house
  • Add some lighting element in lower hallway
  • Add outlets in kitchen island
  • Make sure outlets are placed in floor in family room and living room
  • Locate wiring for sconces and lighting in powder room and lower master bath
  • Install fireplace mantles
  • Install powder room vanity (custom, lil' secret)
  • Sand and stain porch floors
  • Stain front and side doors
  • Install porch railings
  • Finish the kitchen cabinets (don't ask!)
  • Complete plumbing in kitchen, powder bath, island faucet, drain, disposal, and pot filler)
  • Install appliances (I think I have made a decision about the range) and complete the painted panels on the Sub-Zero
  • Install range hood, thinking of no hood but a finished cabinet around the blower. Range will require a vented blower, not ventless to make sure to handle the heat and smoke from commercial grade range
  • Install vanity and kitchen hardware already purchased
  • Install new exterior door knobs already purchased
  • Complete trim in upstairs master bath
  • Install mirrors and bath fixtures purchased so far
  • Lighting (ugh, lots to do here on my part)
  • Closets (another ugh, on me)
  • Landscaping

I know there is more. It is tiring to think about and type. Oh the last thing.....Move!

Snow...

Today's snow was nice. Nice in the fact that it came and went away for the most part. I like nice things but snow is one of those bitter sweet elements to me that can be pretty but also can be a disruption. Ice is never good, snow can be okay. As I was leaving Russell Street to take the pictures of the new floors that I love, btw, I could not help but notice this shrub. Tomorrow it will not be the same as the temperatures rise so I knew I better get it quick. That is also the case with Russell Street as more and more gets done to reach the end result. However it looks today, it will look different tomorrow.
